‘Very good defensively’: Charlie Austin says Liverpool star gets into PSG’s side ahead of Neymar

Salah, 29, scored another two goals on Tuesday night as Liverpool beat FC Porto 5-1. He took his tally to a whopping eight goals in just eight games.

Not only has Salah taken his tally to 100 Premier League goals, but he now has also done so for Liverpool – without his two efforts for Chelsea.

His form has seen him the talk of the town, and now QPR striker Austin has had his say on TalkSPORT. Austin was full of praise for Salah.

Speaking about the Egyptian skipper, Austin said the Liverpool star gets into PSG’s side above Neymar – but also raved about his defensive ability.

“He’s ridiculous,” . “He’s got everything. Pace, power, finishing, defensively he’s very good. He can press all over the pitch, he sets the press.

“He’s world class, correct. He’d get in any team in the world – he gets into PSG’s front three over Neymar.”

Asked if he would have Salah over Ronaldo, De Bruyne, Austin said: “I would rather have Salah. Salah is the best player in the Premier League.”

But when both are going at it, full tilt, is he still better than Neymar? A tricky one. Neymar is incredibly influential, and draws in players.

Much like Jack Grealish, Neymar is incredibly effective at bringing players around him and creating space for others. Goals, assists, flair – personality.

Neymar has it all. Salah’s stats are incredible. His press is good. But is his hold-up play there? Is his contribution to play as good as Salah’s?

The PSG star could play as a nine, as a 10, or on either flank. He contributes to everything. Salah is at the peak of his powers right now.
