‘Very excited’… Tottenham really think their 19-year-old youngster could be brilliant
The Tottenham Hotspur academy hasn’t produced a genuine superstar for a little while now.
Some very good players have come through at Spurs in recent years such as Oliver Skipp and Kyle Walker-Peters, but that Harry Kane type elite star hasn’t come through for some time now.
However, in the current academy setup there are a number of fantastic young players just waiting to burst onto the scene.
The likes of Alfie Devine, Ashley Phillips and Alfie Dorrington all look like they are stars of the future, while Jamie Donley is already making a first-team impact.
Indeed, Donley has been a regular on the Spurs bench as of late, and according to Tom Barclay, speaking on , the 19-year-old is someone Spurs do have high hopes for.

Tottenham excited about Jamie Donley
Barclay shared what he knows about the teenage talent.
“Jamie Donley is someone who is just breaking into the first-team at the moment. He came off the bench against Brentford the other day. He’s another one they’re very excited about. Speaking to people around the club about it, they are very excited about some of the prospects they’ve got coming through,” Barclay said.
Already looking promising
We’ve only seen drips and drabs of Donley at first-team level so far but he already looks like an exciting prospect.
Indeed, Donley has impressed in these cameo appearances so far for Spurs, and at the age of just 19, the sky appears to be the limit for this young man.
The fact he’s already getting first-team minutes suggests that Ange Postecoglou is a fan, and the Australian could be the perfect coach to mentor Donley into becoming Spurs’ next great homegrown product.
Donley is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming years.
