‘Very difficult’: Antonio Conte makes claim about Celtic and Rangers before visiting Ibrox tomorrow

Tottenham Hotspur are set to face off against Rangers tomorrow in a pre-season friendly at the Ibrox.

Coming off the back of a memorable season where they reached the Europa League final, Rangers are looking to build with boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst after missing out on the Scottish Championship title to their bitter rivals.

And The Hoops enjoyed a brilliant first year under Ange Postecoglou and they are set to return to the Champions League group-stages, while Rangers will have to qualify for the competition.

It’s the famous European nights where the Ibrox and Celtic Park come alive and Conte has spoken about the atmospheres at the grounds. The Italian managed actually managed Juventus when they played against Celtic in the last-16 of the Champions League back in 2013.

Conte on playing at Celtic and Rangers

He said: “Yeah, a big game. For sure, the atmosphere will be amazing when you play away against Rangers or Celtic, it’s always very difficult because you play in an amazing atmosphere.”

With Conte’s Spurs side set to face off against Rangers, the Italian also admitted the the Gers will be a tough test for his team.

“But (it’s) a good test for us. For sure, we are talking about a really good team (Rangers) and they lost the final of the Europa League last season,” he said.

“In the last friendly game against West Ham they beat West Ham 3-1. A good test for us.”

The Old Firm rivalry is set to heat up this season as both sides will be aiming to lift the Scottish Championship once again.

The two team won’t have to wait too long to face off against each other either, as the first derby of the season is set to take place at Celtic Park at the beginning of September.
