‘Very determined’: Alfie Devine says there’s four players who have really impressed him in Tottenham training
The 18-year-old has already written himself into Tottenham’s history, becoming their youngest ever scorer two seasons ago.
Since then, he’s gone on to win international honours with England’s under-19 side.
Devine is yet to make his league debut for Tottenham, but has been a regular in first-team training.
Young players have found opportunities to play very difficult to come by under Antonio Conte.
The likes of Bryan Gil and Japhet Tanganga only have a few minutes each under their belt.
Gil looks set to leave the club on loan in January after being denied a summer move.
Djed Spence is another player who has barely played, while Pape Matar Sarr and Harvey White have only been unused substitutes.
believes that Devine is also likely depart the club on loan next month.
It’s the logical next step for one of the club’s most exciting young prospects.
However, Devine would have benefit from working with some top professionals in Tottenham training over the past few months.

“The difference from under-23s to first team is different in many ways.
“You can sort of get away with a few more mistakes in the 23s and maybe people won’t get on to you. But with the first team, you have to be 100 per cent.
“It’s quite easy to soak up information, with the coaches you have and the players you’re with — it’s the best you can get anywhere.
“The hard-working part is what you pick up, they’re very determined and very strong mentally.
“You pick that up in training, you train like it’s a game, as you should do.
“When, say, I’ve travelled [with the first team] for an away game, watching what they eat or do… with the youth team everyone wants to be up to stuff. It’s different with the first team.”
Devine has a big future ahead of him, and Tottenham managing his training and playing routine is key to his development.
He’s not had the opportunity to prove his ability alongside the first-team, and so a loan move makes sense.
It will be interesting to see what league Devine ends up in if he does leave the club.
Tottenham will decide if he joins a lower league English club, or ends up moving abroad.
