‘Very complete’ player set to sign for Celtic imminently as transfer documents now finalised
Celtic are on the verge of another signing as Brendan Rodgers attempts to add quality to his squad ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
The Bhoys have made a big sale in recent days with playmaker Matt O’Riley joining Brighton and Hove Albion.
Celtic are now looking to snap up a new midfielder and Augsburg ace Arne Engels has agreed terms over a move to Parkhead.
A deal hasn’t been thrashed out with Augsburg yet though with the Bundesliga side demanding at least £10million.
Celtic have also moved for Auston Trusty with the Sheffield United defender a key target alongside Lazio winger Gustav Isaken – though that deal now looks unlikely.

Celtic transfer set to be announced
Brendan Rodgers will hope for a week of incomings rather than losing any more key players like O’Riley.
The Bhoys are now in position to confirm one signing though as a new left back prepares to sign on at Parkhead.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Barcelona talent Alex Valle has now completed his medical with Celtic.
Romano states that all the documents are signed with a loan deal now ready to be confirmed.
Romano adds that Valle will be officially unveiled as a Celtic player on Wednesday with ‘no issues’ expected.
Celtic have Greg Taylor at left back but have been keen to add more competition for places in that role.
Alexandro Bernabei was loaned to Internacional in Brazil back in March and Celtic have now turned to Valle as another left back option.
Who is Celtic-bound Alex Valle?
Valle hails from Badalona in Catalunya and spent time in the Gramenet and Sant Gabriel ranks before joining Barcelona at the age of 10.
Valle has played 22 times for the Barcelona B team but has yet to make a first-team appearance for the La Liga giants.
The 20-year-old joined Andorra on loan in 2023 before taking the biggest step in his development last season.
Valle spent the campaign with Levante and enjoyed a full season of first-team action in Spain’s second tier.
Barcelona youth coach Oscar Lopez has hailed Valle as ‘very complete’ and a ‘soldier’, in comments given to .
Lopez believes that Valle is ‘strong, fast and aggressive’, praising his abilities both going forward and defensively.
That sounds perfect for Celtic and whilst Valle will only be competition for Taylor initially, he will be desperate to break into Rodgers’ side on a regular basis.
