Vaclav Hladky has insisted that he is looking to go and play in England despite holding talks with Rangers over a potential move to Ibrox, .
The Daily Record reports that Hladky’s contract with St Mirren expires at the end of the season. He joined the club in January, and has proved to be an inspired signing for the Scottish Premiership side.
St Mirren have a quite bizarre record for a team at the bottom of the table. They have conceded 11 goals in 11 games. Meanwhile, Rangers and Celtic have conceded just four fewer.
It appears that Hladky is going to be on the move in the near future. And as he discussed his future, the 28-year-old claimed that he has already held discussions with Steven Gerrard’s side.
“Rangers are interested in me and some negotiations are under way. But playing in England is the big dream. The biggest dream is to play in the Premier League but that is a big jump,” he said, .
“I know I will need to make another step first on the way. I’m not crazy enough to think I can go from St Mirren directly to the English top division. Going to the Championship would be ideal for me. That is preferable to staying in Scotland.”

Despite his form, it does seem surprising that Rangers have apparently made contact. Allan McGregor looks to have the potential to carry on for some time yet.
Meanwhile, Wes Foderingham – who is the same age as Hladky – is arguably a lot better than a number of first-choice stoppers in the Premiership.
On a free transfer, Hladky could be a good signing – particularly if Gerrard is expecting Foderingham to move on.
But given that he is unlikely to be happy being McGregor’s backup for the time-being, Rangers should perhaps not be too worried if he decides to consider other options instead.
