‘Use your brains’… Pundit says Real Madrid would sign ‘unbelievable’ Chelsea player if they were smart

The January transfer window is open, and, once again, Chelsea are at the centre of a number of storms.

The Blues haven’t been linked with too many signings so far this month, but there has been a lot of talk about potential departures at Stamford Bridge.

Conor Gallagher continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham, while speaking on , Steve Nicol has tipped another Chelsea player to move away.

Indeed, Nicol has been discussing Real Madrid’s current defensive issues as Eder Militao and David Alaba are both out of action at the moment.

Nicol says that Los Blancos need to sign an experienced centre-back, and he reckons that Chelsea’s Thiago Silva would be a good signing for the Spanish giants.

Silva to Real Madrid

Nicol spoke about the ‘’ Chelsea defender and a potential move to the Spanish capital.

“I’m not saying to just go and buy a square head, but if you use your brains and go and buy an experienced player like Thiago Silva where you can put him in the Champions League, he doesn’t have to play La Liga, you can get away with Tchouameni or Carvajal there, that’s my point,” Nicol said.

Great move

Chelsea probably won’t be too keen to lose Silva this month, but it has to be said that this would be a great final move for Silva in what has been a storied career.

The Brazilian has been there and done it in almost every major league in Europe. He was brilliant with AC Milan, he became a legend at PSG, and he won his first ever Champions League at Chelsea.

Silva has always been good enough to play for one of the Spanish giants, and this may be his chance to get a move to a dream club like Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti knows the Brazilian well from his time in Paris, so this may be one to keep an eye on.
