‘Unreal’: Leeds teammates blown away by Sam Greenwood goal
For the second time this season, Leeds United seemed to pick a game against West Brom to conduct their own goal of the season competition.
In December, it was the likes of Gjanni Alioski, Jack Harrison and Raphinha who scored the contenders.

This week however, the goals came from Mark Jackson’s under-23 side as Leeds beat the Baggies 5-0 to move a step closer to the league title.
But, while there were some stunning goals on show, there was surely one that stood out amongst all of the others – and that came from Sam Greenwood.

The midfielder bagged Leeds’s final goal of the win. And it came from an outrageous free kick that saw the former Arsenal starlet send the ball in off the far post.
The goal prompted an amazing reaction from Joe Gelhardt. The striker – who had already scored a hat-trick – walked back to the kick-off with his hands over his mouth in astonishment.
So unsurprisingly, Greenwood received a lot of plaudits after posting the clip on social media…

Several Leeds teammates responded, with both Robbie Gotts and Olly Casey labelling the strike ‘unreal’. Meanwhile, Cody Drameh suggested it was ‘insane’. Gelhardt’s reply meanwhile, is worth looking up – it is not included here for obvious reasons.
Here are just some of the replies from teammates past and present to Greenwood’s post…
