‘Underestimates how fast he is’… Daniel Sturridge says Man City star seemed stunned by Liverpool player’s pace
Daniel Sturridge has suggested one Liverpool player managed to surprise Manchester City with his pace during the enthralling draw at Anfield on Sunday.
The Premier League ♑title race remains as intriguing as ever. Liverpool played brilliantly ജon Merseyside. And they will perhaps feel that they missed a golden opportunity to move back to the top of the table.
It did appear that they had a huge task on their hands, particularly after John Stones gav🌠e the visito🐭rs the lead in the first-half.
Ederson surprised by the pace of Darwin Nunez
But Liverpool got the opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot. Darwin Nunez sprung into life after Nat𝄹han Ake attempte𝄹d to pass the ball back to Ederson.

It was the Uruguayan who got to the ball first, knocking it past the goalkeeper. Ederson however, had committed to the challenge and absolutely wiped the Liverpꦑool striker out. It was the easiest penalty call Michael Oliver will probably have in his refereeing career.
Speaking to (broadcast on 10/3; 18:11), Daniel Sturridge suggested that Ederson did not expect Nunez to be so fast.
“Yeah I think so. When we talk about Darwin here, I think the goalkeeper probably underestimates how fast he actually is. To have that pace and power to get to the ball and nudge it in front of him. He’s tried to play the ball, 🍒h𒊎e’s obviously kicked the player so I think the referee’s made the right decision there,” he said.
The Liverpool attack caused so many problems for Manchester City. On another day, Luis Diaz could have had a 🎐hat-trick. And Cody Gakpo passed u𒁃p a great opening late on.
Nunez did h🌟ave issues keeping himself onside during the first-half. But there may not have been many who would have been able to force Eders𓃲on into such a rash mistake.
Nun🐼ez has been outstanding for much of this season. He has definitely taken a step forw🗹ard in his development after a turbulent first campaign with the Reds.
And there is still every ch﷽ance that he will end the season with a Premier League title under his belt.
