Under-18 goal-machine Reo Griffiths finally showing Tottenham Hotspur what they’re missing
Tottenham Hotspur fans were left fairly disappointed when the club lost talented striker Reo Griffiths in 2018.
Just months earlier Spurs fans were begging for him to get a chance in the first-team after some sensational scoring form in the club’s under-18s.
It was the same summer Noni Madueke left Spurs for PSV Eindhoven, an exit the club are undoubtedly regretting now the teenager is flying in Dutch football.
Griffiths, who scored 33 goals, including four in one game against Arsenal, for the under-18s in 2017-18 has not yet left Tottenham fans reeling.

He joined French side Lyon in 2018 and his progress has been slow and steady in France. However, fans have not got their pitchforks out yet wondering why this precocious talent was not tied down.
However, given Griffiths early form this season, that day might be just around the corner. The 20-year-old is playing for Lyon’s reserve team in the fourth-tier of French football and has already scored six goals in nine games so far this season.
He has even found himself captaining the side at times, an impressive feat considering the fact he is not French and plays in attack, not one of the more traditional captain positions.
It seems a step up in quality is just around the corner for this one-time Spurs wonderkid. Whether that is a loan move away from Lyon or a chance to shine in the first-team remains to be seen but it is looking increasingly clear that Tottenham might have let one slip through the net.
