‘Unconvincing’: TalkSPORT pundit claims £30m Arsenal player looked so nervous vs Sevilla last night

༒Pundit Jason Cundy has suggested that Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya continued to look nervous in goal against Sevilla yesterday.

ꦑCundy to Jamie O’Hara in the aftermath of Arsenal’s 2-1 win in the Champions League last night.

It was two Brazilians that earned Arsenal all three points, with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus scoring both goals.

𒐪The young winger was played through on goal by his fellow countryman and kept his cool to round the goalkeeper and slot past Orjan Nyland.

Jesus doubled Arsenal’s lead with a stunning finish and at the time, Mikel Arteta’s side looked very comfortable.

⛦However, Nemanja Gudelj’s bullet header gave the hosts a lifeline and suddenly Arsenal were under pressure.

One moment in injury time from David Rayaℱ highlighted that the Spaniard doesn’t look completely comfortable in the Arsenal goal and Sevilla will be disappointed they couldn’t capitalise.

ღThe goalkeeping situation has been one of the biggest talking points at the Emirates this season after Aaron Ramsdale lost his place in the side.

♈Winning the match is the most important thing for Arsenal, but more and more questions are being asked of the Gunners’ new number one.

Raya looks nervy for Arsenal vs. Sevilla

𒁃Speaking about the goalkeeper, : “Unconvincing again, that’s the word. He gave one away in the first half, you’re absolutely right.

🔯“If Sevilla are a little bit more clinical, I think that first touch, I can’t remember who brought it down, but it hasn’t got to be a brilliant first touch, he’s just got to get it in his grasp and toe it around him.

🔴“He rode his luck towards the end doing the Superman impression didn’t he, punching it over his crossbar.

❀“You sense there’s a nervousness around him at the moment because that spotlight is on him and understandably so as he wasn’t great at the weekend either.”

ꦡWhile both Raya and Ramsdale are at the club, the discussion over who should be starting is only going to rumble on.

🎃Raya will be disappointed he couldn’t keep a clean sheet against Sevilla although his Arsenal teammates will have to take the blame for the goal he conceded.

His distribution was one of the reasons he was elevated above Ramsdale but that was questioned again last night.

It’s been suggested🔯 that he doesn’t look himself right now and Arteta has to now decide whether to keep faith in him or bring the England international back into the side.
