‘Unbelievable’ Tottenham player was barely given any guidance by Antonio Conte, he couldn’t get into the team
Antonio Conte reportedly didn’t give any guidance to Djed Spence despite Tottenham signing the defender during the Italian’s tenure at the club.
The former Middlesbrough defender was signed by the north London side in Conte’s first and only summer transfer window as manager of Spurs, with Spence still yet to settle at Tottenham.
Despite playing a key role in Nottingham Forest’s Premier League promotion campaign, Spence is yet to do anything of note at Tottenham since joining in 2022, yet Conte could now be to blame.

, the former Inter Milan manager did little help Spence’s development or advise the defender on how to get into Tottenham’s starting XI.
With Spence now out on his third loan spell in just 12 months, it’s clear that the 23-year-old right-back made a massive mistake in joining Tottenham in 2022.
, it’s hard to see where Spence goes from here, yet it appears that the youngster was doomed from the start at Spurs with Conte in charge.
Tottenham never should have signed Djed Spence

It always felt like a strange move at the time, yet 18 months on from the transfer, it’s now safe to assume that Spence made the wrong decision in joining Tottenham.
Whilst Conte should have been the perfect manager for the former England youth international, Spence was seemingly never a good fit for Spurs, with the Italian not a fan of the youngster either.
Indeed, Spence’s career has been on a disappointing slide ever since his move to Tottenham, and it now seems hard to imagine how the right-back will return to his once exciting form at Forest.
