‘Unbelievable’ Tottenham player spotted in pain after Crystal Palace game, Ange Postecoglou had to check on him

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr was spotted in discomfort after the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Pape Matar Sarr missed out on the starting XI as Rodrigo Bentancur got the nod alongside James Maddison and Yves Bissouma.

The 21-year-old has been since returning from AFCON 2024 last month.

Tottenham came from behind to pick up a 3-1 win over Palace, with Sarr replacing Maddison in the 82nd minute to get some minutes under his belt.

But the Senegalese midfielder was spotted in pain after the final whistle, with claiming that Ange Postecoglou even went to check on Sarr after the win.

The outlet reports that Sarr was spotted sitting on the ground in discomfort on the pitch right after Tottenham’s win on Saturday.

It’s noted that the midfielder was ‘bouncing up and down’ while sitting on the floor before being checked over by the club’s physio.

Postecoglou then followed suit to check in on Sarr.

Sarr has been a key man for Spurs this term and it was a surprise to see him drop to the bench against Palace.

But Postecoglou has since claimed the ‘’ midfielder is struggling with a back issue at the moment.

It will be a cause for concern that Sarr was clearly in discomfort after playing just 10 minutes at the weekend.

Spurs haven’t exactly been fortunate with injuries this season and an injury to Sarr would be a real blow for Postecoglou’s side.

Nevertheless, the fact that he was able to feature on the weekend would suggest his issue isn’t anything too serious.

Tottenham fans will undoubtedly be awaiting a further update from Postecoglou on the midfielder’s fitness, particularly with a huge clash against Aston Villa this weekend.
