‘Unbelievable’ player made Premier League history for Tottenham during Newcastle game today

Son Heung-Min put in a brilliant performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United today.

The South Korean star grabbed two assists on the day and netted from the spot as Spurs thrashed Newcastle United 4-1.

It was a much-needed win for Tottenham after they had picked up just a single point from their last five games beforehand.

There were plenty of positives for Ange Postecoglou to take from the game, with Richarlison also netting a brace. But Son Heung-Min was undoubtedly the star of the show after being moved out to the left-hand side.

And the Spurs skipper hit a huge personal landmark today as he now has the most assists of any Tottenham player in the Premier League era.

Son makes Premier League history for Tottenham

With his two assists against Newcastle today, Son moved above Christian Eriksen for the most assists from a Spurs player in the Premier League era.

The South Korean has now created 83 goals for Tottenham, while Eriksen managed 82 during his spell in North London.

Son created two brilliant goals for Tottenham today as he beat his former teammate Kieran Trippier on both occasions.

The forward set up Destiny Udogie for their opener before creating Richarlison’s first of the game.

Son continues to provide for Tottenham in the final third and he was actually a doubt heading into today’s game.

He picked up a knock against West Ham on Thursday but fortunately for Ange Postecoglou, his skipper was ready to play.

Son is mainly renowned for his goalscoring but his creativity is an underrated area of his game. It’s a huge achievement to overtake Eriksen after the Dane was such a creative force during his time at Spurs.

Postecoglou will certainly be hoping Son can continue his ‘unbelievable‘ form during the festive period.
