‘Unbelievable’ player dropped from squad, after claims West Ham and Newcastle want to sign him

Ross Barkley was dropped from Chelsea’s squad last night, amid rumours that both West Ham United and Newcastle United want him.
In demand
Newcastle and West Ham are in the hunt for the playmaker, as they seek their own attacking additions.
West Ham apparently fancy Barkley (), as landing Jesse Lingard has become extremely difficult.
And last night’s developments at Chelsea may make encouraging reading for the potential suitors.
“It was a non-selection. On Sunday we wrote the names down and we had 42 players in the building on Monday,” .
“So from then on we had to take decisions to provide quality and intelligent training for the three groups that below to us.

“Ross had his chance to play one half against Arsenal, the same as Danny Drinkwater.”
Not promising
While Tuchel’s selection doesn’t mean that Barkley will definitely leave, it is hardly a promising omen to lose his slot so close to the season starting.
Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in Barkley’s absence.
Barkley, who has been called ‘unbelievable by Callum Wilson (), may well be looking to find a permanent home this summer, after failing to find regular football in recent years – and a rather indifferent loan spell at Aston Villa last season.
But whether Newcastle or West Ham could afford to finance a long-term deal for the former England international is questionable.
