‘Unbelievable’: Chris Sutton wowed by Rangers player in last night’s Europa League win
Chris Sutton has waxed lyrical about Rangers forward Kemar Roofe following his superb goal for the Ibrox side in last night’s Europa League win.
Steven Gerrard’s charges got their European campaign off to a winning start as they went to Standard Liege and brought all three points back to Ibrox with a 2-0 victory.
Rangers captain James Tavernier opened the scoring in the 19th minute, converting his penalty after Nicolas Gavory’s handball from a Connor Goldson header.

Although the goal sparked the Gers into life, the Belgian outfit ended the first half strongly, and the visitors rode their luck at times.
However, Roofe ensured that Rangers could see out the final stages of the game in comfort with a simply sensational effort from just behind the halfway line.
The 27-year-old was pushed out to the flank as he tried to get away from three opposition midfielders and, with nowhere to go, unleashed an audacious effort which dipped into the net.
Even Celtic-leaning Sutton was blown away by the goal:
What an unbelievable goal from Kemar Roofe👏👏
