Brennan Johnson has lauded Heung-Min Son after the Tottenham Hotspur skipper produced an ‘unbelievable’ assist on Saturday afternoon.

Heung-Min Son made an instant impact against Brighton yesterday after returning from the Asian Cup this week.

After a well-worked move from Spurs in the sixth minute of stoppage time, Son delivered an exceptional ball across the face of the goal to hand Brennan Johnson a simple tap-in.

And while speaking to after yesterday’s 2-1 win, Johnson has heaped praise on his skipper.

Johnson on ‘unbelievable’ Son

Johnson admitted he was delighted after coming off the bench to net the winner for Tottenham on Saturday.

But he also took a moment to praise Son, who provided real quality off the left-hand side.

“So special [scoring the winner],” Johnson said. “Moments like that are what you dream of as a player.

“Even today when I was on the bench, I knew when we come on there is such good quality in the team.

“Coming on with a player as good as Sonny, I knew when he gets that ball down the left-hand side, his crossing is unbelievable, especially off both feet.”

Ange Postecoglou will be delighted to see two of his substitutions linking up for the winner yesterday.

It’s no secret that Spurs have struggled with injuries this term. But for the first time in months, Postecoglou had a bench full of first-team quality players yesterday.

Bringing the likes of Son and Johnson off the bench ultimately led to Spurs picking up all three points on Saturday.

You’d imagine that Son will come back into the starting XI against Wolves next weekend as the man remains Tottenham’s most influential player in the final third.
