‘Unbelievable’: BBC pundit blown away by what Celtic player did in 60th minute v Ferencvaros

Celtic ran out 3-2 winners at Ferencvaros in a dramatic Europa League game which saw the visitors strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stages.

Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring for Celtic on three minutes, collecting Liel Abada’s pass, feigning a shot and slotting home with his left foot.

However, Celtic conceded eight minutes later as they lost possession in a dangerous area.

This culminated in a cross which came off the sliding Josip Juranovic and looped over Joe Hart for an own goal.

The Hoops soon regained their lead through a 20-yard effort from Jota which went in off the post via a slight deflection.

And on the hour mark, Ange Postecoglou’s charges made it three with a superb team goal which Abada duly slotted home into the corner.

BBC Sport pundits James McFadden and Pat Bonner both hailed the build-up play culminating in the goal.

“That is a sensational goal,” McFadden said on Sportsound ().

“Turnbull works all the way back after losing the ball and just shows a bit of composure to play it inside to McGregor.

“He takes a brilliant touch before feeding it into Kyogo who plays an unbelievable pass into Abada. What a team goal.”

And Bonner said (): “The technique from all of those involved in the goal, but in particular that hard graft from Turnbull initially to win the ball back. It sets up wonderfully.”

Celtic were made to sweat late on as Myrto Uzuni brought his side back to within a goal in the 86th minute, but the visitors hung on for all three points.

The result ensures that the Hoops will remain in European competition come the start of 2022.
