Unai Emery told Aston Villa have a ‘brilliant’ problem that every manager would want

Aston Villa have transformed in the last two seasons under Unai Emery, with the Spanish manager a revelation at Villa Park.

The former Arsenal coach last year led Villa to a European semi-final as well as a top-four finish, with the Villians set to play their first UEFA Champions League game this century later today away to Swiss side Young Boys.

Emery’s tactics and the transfer made by the likes of Monchi have been huge in transforming Villa into one of the most exciting clubs in all of Europe, with this season set to be a massive one for the Premier League side.

And former goalkeeper Shay Given now thinks Emery has a problem that every manager would want.

Villa have a ‘brilliant’ problem in who should start over Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran

Speaking on , Given highlighted how Emery now has a great problem on his hands in which striker to start in the Villa attack between Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran, who have both impressed this season.

The England international has started the new campaign in good form with two goals and an assist in four games, whilst his Colombian counterpart has been just as good with three match-winning goals already this term.

And for Given, Emery now has a problem on his hands that every manager in world football would love to have, with Watkins and Duran both good enough to start for Villa after fast starts to the new Premier League season.

Given said: “The stats (of Duran) are fantastic, but at the same time, Ollie Watkins is a phenomenal striker, he probably should have had a hat-trick himself at the weekend. It’s a fantastic, what’s the word, for Unai Emery, it’s a brilliant headache to have, isn’t it?”

Emery knows he has two unbelievable attacking weapons on his hands

Villa’s firepower last season was quite spectacular with Watkins the main man for the Villa Park side, yet Duran this time around is beginning to pull his wait in a big way after three huge goals already for the Villians.

And Emery knows that Watkins and Duran are going to be huge for Villa’s chances of another top-four finish this season, as well as a run in the Champions League with the competition starting later today.

Watkins and Duran fighting for the starting spot will only get the best out of the pair, and Emery knows he could have two of the highest scoring strikers in the Premier League this season if they keep at it.
