Ugurcan Cakir asking price reported which surely rules out Everton move
Reports in Turkey have detailed Everton and Tottenham Hotspur’s reported interest in Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
Both clubs have recently been credited with an interest in the impressive 23-year-old, with Liverpool also recently mentioned.
However, has suggested that it is Everton and Spurs leading the way for the player, with scouts set to watch him in action this weekend. Spanish side Sevilla will also send a representative to keep an eye on his progress.
The report also details the asking price for the Turkish international. Trabzonspor are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of €25 million to €30 million (£21-£25m).

Cakir has been catching the eye of many suitors this season with his impressive performances in the Turkish Super Lig.
Everton, in particular, could need a new goalkeeper in the summer. Jordan Pickford has had his ups and downs this season but, regardless, the Toffees are lacking a back-up. Jonas Lossl has already headed out on loan back to former club Huddersfield Town and appears surplus to requirements. Third-choice Maarten Stekelenburg is no longer at the highest level.
However, paying such a large fee for a player who is likely to act as a backup to Pickford would be wasteful from Everton, who will be tightening their purse strings amid FFP scrutiny.
If Everton do pay such a fee for Cakir it is likely to be as a replacement for Pickford which, despite his flaws, still seems unlikely given the England number one’s talents.
Unless Pickford is snapped up in the summer, or specifically replaced, Cakir seems an unlikely Everton recruit at that price.
