Two injured Tottenham players could be back for Man City game, including £40m star

It now seems as if Ange Postecoglou may receive a big boost with a returning Tottenham Hotspur duo against Manchester City.

Spurs have dealt with a catalogue of injuries this season, ones that did slightly derail their incredibly impressive start.

Postecoglou quickly managed to get his Tottenham team playing in his image, only to lose several of his key players in one game.

The fall out of unavailability from a 4-1 loss against Chelsea in November proved to be much more costly than the game itself.

Ange Postecoglou lost James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, who had both proved to be superb signings.

That being said, it seems Postecoglou will now welcome back the former of that duo when Tottenham face Manchester City in the FA Cup.

According to , Maddison is hoping to return for the game alongside Manor Solomon who has been missing for an even longer stretch.

Whilst Maddison has been out since November, Solomon has been missing since September after injuring his knee in training.

Spurs have looked depleted in attack ever since, and the duo’s return would be a big boost.

Although Solomon should definitely be eased back in cautiously, it remains to be seen if Maddison will be pushed to start.

Following the signing of Timo Werner, Spurs do now have stronger choices up top – even if Son Heung-min is still at the Asian Cup.

It goes without saying that Maddison will slot in the number ten role when he is fully fit, the signing is now indispensable.

But it’s certainly intriguing to consider who he’ll be alongside.

It seems Timo Werner could drop to the bench in that situation, and once Son returns Postecoglou may have to make a tough choice between Richarlison and Brennan Johnson.

Postecoglou will start both of the Tottenham duo against Man City, but Son may still be his first-choice striker in the long run.

Clearly, Spurs do now have some exciting options to choose between.

And it seems they have also begun lining up an impressive forward signing for the summer
