Twitter reacts to Tottenham reportedly agreeing terms with Paris Saint Germain’s Serge Aurier
Out of all of the teams going for the Premier League title, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are by far the most inactive in the transfer market.
They have one of the strongest starting XI’s in the division, evident in their superb second and third finishes in the past two seasons. However, one or two injuries and Spurs suddenly look significantly weaker, reliant on academy graduates and youngsters.
In the opening game of the season, having lost Kyle Walker to Manchester City and with Kieran Trippier suffering an ankle injury, Pochettino had to field 20-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters against Newcastle. The right-back performed very well but there are doubts as to whether the youngster can sustain this throughout the year.
Enter Serge Aurier. If reports are to be believed, Tottenham have agreed personal terms with the Paris Saint Germain right-back ahead of a potential move to the London side. The Ivorian International would certainly be a solution to the team’s lack of depth at full-back.
However, Spurs are not the only side interested, with Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus having supposedly agreed personal terms as well.
It looks as though the transfer will come down to who is able to agree a fee with Paris-Saint Germain first, and if Tottenham are the side to do it, it would truly be a remarkable coup.
The news made for some interesting comments on social media. Here’s how Twitter reacted:

Serge Aurier to Tottenham? Fine player but his off-the-field antics will be fireworks. Interesting.
