Troy Deeney urges Manchester United to ‘cut ties’ with ‘frustrating’ player after his display against Tottenham
Manchester United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last night as they fell to a 4-3 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils produced a spirited showing in the second half after going 3-0 down, but Tottenham held on for a victory to set up a semifinal clash against holders Liverpool.
Ruben Amorim won’t be too disappointed with his team as they showed a lot of resilience to strike back from a tough situation.
But he won’t have been too pleased with the performance of one of his attackers as he flattered to deceive once again.
Troy Deeney urges Manchester United to sell Antony

Antony got a rare chance to impress as he played in attack alongside Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund.
The Brazilian has been desperately out of form since the start of last season and is widely regarded as one of the biggest flops in recent years at Old Trafford.
Despite his current form, there were reports that Amorim is willing to give Antony a lifeline at Manchester United after taking over the reigns from Erik ten Hag.
The 24-year-old failed to make an impression during his time on the pitch and was substituted in the second half as Amorim decided to introduce Amad Diallo, who came on and immediately scored for his team.
Deeney feels the Red Devils must offload the former Ajax winger as he delivered a harsh verdict on his performance against Tottenham.
“As soon as Manchester United took Antony off, everyone else started running,” said Deeney on CBS.
“They’ve got to cut ties with him. I don’t want to make him the scapegoat but honestly, watching him is so frustrating. He doesn’t run, he doesn’t sprint and doesn’t add any value. Just get him out.”
Antony’s record at Manchester United
The Brazilian signed for Manchester United for a fee believed to be in the region of £85m, but Chris Sutton believes Antony is currently only worth £10m after his underwhelming displays.
He has scored just 12 goals in 92 appearances for the club and Red Devils will struggle to get a fraction of the fee they paid to snap him up in 2022.
Antony’s Manchester United career seems to be drawing to a terrible climax and it remains to be seen if he has any suitors in the upcoming transfer windows.
