Troy Deeney suggests Tottenham sold a defender in 2017 who is better than Ledley King
Troy Deeney has suggested that Kyle Walker – who Tottenham sold in 2017 – is better than Ledley King.
The 35-year-old made the comments when speaking on TikTok.
So, what was said about Kyle Walker and Tottenham legend Ledley King? Let’s take a look…
Troy Deeney places Kyle Walker above Ledley King
Well, Spurs fans will surely have a lot to say about this.
Deeney was playing a game on where a series of random footballers must be ranked from one to ten.
The man from Birmingham placed Walker at No.4 – before dropping King in at No.10 to finish the video.
Deeney did not offer much explanation for his decision apart from saying that “Kyle is up there” with the best, while adding that he “was happy” with King at No.10 due to the fact he didn’t play many games.

The 43-year-old famously struggled with injuries during his career, but still managed to rack up appearances for Tottenham on his way to becoming a cult hero in N17.
In regards to Walker, the England international made appearances for Spurs before the north Londoners sold him to Manchester City for in July 2017.
Tottenham fans will beg to differ
Walker is undoubtedly one of the greatest defenders of his generation, but we – and presumably many Spurs fans will to – feel Deeney has underrated King here.
The likes of Gary Cahill and Micah Richards were also placed above King, who would surely receive more recognition had he not struggled with injuries.

Many – including Gabriel Agbonlahor – believe the Londoner could have become one of the greatest defenders of his generation if he experienced better luck with his fitness.
Walker deserves his place at No.4 in Deeney’s list, although there is no way a defender as talented as King should be stuck right at the bottom.
