Troy Deeney reckons club were absolutely ‘buzzing’ when Tottenham signed their £25m player
Tottenham Hotspur haven’t had the best of starts in the Premier League this season.
Spurs are sitting firmly in mid-table after seven games, and Ange Postecoglou is coming under fire for his side’s performances.
Speaking on his TikTok page, Troy Deeney has been analysing this Tottenham squad, and he’s singled out one player he’s really not a fan of.
Indeed, the pundit says that he really doesn’t rate Yves Bissouma, claiming that he adds no value to this Tottenham team and that Brighton will have been laughing all the way to the bank when Tottenham signed him for .

Troy Deeney not a fan of Yves Bissouma
Bissouma has been an important part of this Tottenham team under Postecoglou, but Deeney believes he’s something of a nothing player.
The pundit ripped into the Mali international, and he thinks that Brighton will have been more than happy to sell the midfielder a couple of years ago.
Bissouma has been praised for his performances in Spurs training, but his performances in the first-team haven’t been up to scratch thus far.
“Something has to change, and at this moment in time the transfer window is closed and you can’t add anything,” Deeney said.
“They have goals, Solanke is starting to score, Maddison is doing his thing, Brennan Johnson is doing his thing.
“Midfield is iffy for me still. I’m not the biggest Bissouma fan, I don’t think he adds value, Brighton sold him because they were buzzing to get rid of him, personally.”
What Tim Sherwood has said about Bissouma
Bissouma is an incredibly patchy player, and, at the moment, he’s going through a poor run of form.
When he first arrived at Tottenham, Bissouma took some time to get going, but last season, he was brilliant.
Tim Sherwood even remarked that Bissouma was unrecognisable last season.
“Some of them are unrecognisable, a lot of those players I would’ve said ‘can someone come and buy these off of Tottenham, Bissouma I think he’s the biggest example, Sarr has been outstanding Udogie has been brilliant,” Sherwood said.
Unfortunately, Bissouma has reverted back to the mean this season, and he’s been criticised here for his recent form.
If Bissouma can rediscover his best form, he can be an important figure for Spurs, but, at the moment, he looks slightly bereft of confidence and ideas.
Bissouma had a pre-season issue with Postecoglou, and perhaps that is still weighing on his mind as he looks to get back into the Spurs manager’s good books.
