Raul Jimenez’s stock continues to rise as he was crowned Gold Cup Player of the Tournament. The Mexico international helped his team to Gold Cup glory and he was recognised as the top performer at the summer tournament.

Jimenez finished the North American competition with five goals and two assists to his name in just six appearances. That included an audacious backheel assist in the final for Jonathan Dos Santos’ winning goal.

Dos Santos’ strike was enough to secure victory for Mexico against the United States in Chicago. After the game, Jimenez was seen posing with both the Gold Cup and the Golden Ball.

This just adds to his burgeoning reputation after a stunning debut season in England. The 28-year-old chalked up a tally of 17 goals and eight assists during his loan spell at Wolves.

And Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have secured a coup by landing him on a permanent transfer. He took his good form into the Gold Cup and Wolves fans have high expectations for next season.
