Trio of Leeds United attackers have extra reason to hold off West Brom challenge

Leeds United are looking like one of the frontrunners for Championship promotion this season. They have had a flying start under new manager Marcelo Bielsa and look set to be in the mix come the end of the campaign.

However, they suffered their first loss at the weekend to Birmingham City, and an encroaching rival looks a major threat.

West Brom have moved up to the third in the table because of their recent form and the Baggies are looking like being in the running themselves.

But if Leeds can hold off West Brom this season, it will no doubt have plenty to do with several former Baggies apprentices.

Firstly, there is Kemar Roofe. He has been in stunning form this season. West Brom had Roofe on their books for six years before sanctioning a move to Oxford United. From there he excelled and Leeds have enjoyed his performances since 2016.

There is also Tyler Roberts. West Brom, again, decided he simply would not make it at the Hawthorns and sanctioned a Leeds move in January. After an injury-ravaged start to his Elland Road career, he is now finally finding his feet.

Leeds also have Izzy Brown in on loan from Chelsea. West Brom were left apoplectic when he left for London in 2013. He is recovering from a knee injury, but there is every chance that at some point this season Leeds have three former West Brom talents in their attack.

If the Leeds trio could help force West Brom out of the promotion picture, it would no doubt be a bitter blow for the Baggies.
