Trevor Sinclair and Bobby Zamora fume at incident during West Ham defeat to Tottenham

Trevor Sinclair and Bobby Zamora cannot🦄 understand how Tottenham Hotspur’s opener against West Ham United on Tuesday evening passed VAR checks – as Spurs went on to win 2-0, earning their first win in eight games.

Spurs and West Ham played out a cautious first 45 minutes, before a corner from was inadvertently put into his own goal in the second 💖half by on-loan Hammers midfielder Tomas Soucek – though he was hardly to blame.

The corner took a nick off Davinson Sanchez’s arm, as per replays – whic🐈h saw West Ham boss David Moyes fume after the match, asking how the goal passed VAR checks and suggested that whoever was on VAR needs subbing.

Sinclair has taken to Twitter to complain about the decision not to rule out Tottenham’s opener, while Zamora declared himself “upset”. Harry Kane scored la♏te on to make it two, in his 200th Premier League outing for Spurs.

“I’m upset. The VAR has the access to the footage. I don’t see☂ if the rule is that clear🔯 how he can make a mistake,” immediately after the final whistle was blown.

TBR’s view – Handball by definition, but ridiculous rule

Did Sanchez mean to use his upper harm to assist a goal? Of course he didn’t. Yes, under the current rules and legalities, Sanchez has handled. But surely the rules need to be altered, he simp☂ly did not mean to 🍷use his arm.

Moyes is rig🌼ht to feel aggrieved, as are Sinclair and Zamora. The Hammers did well, and hit the post through Jarred Bowen. But ultimately, Spurs deserved to win and had a goal disallowed themselves with Son offside by millimetres.
