Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury shows Liverpool’s loan of Nathaniel Clyne was short-sighted

On Tuesday, Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arn🥃old would miss a month of action wi🍷th a knee injury suffered on the weekend.

As the young right back faces a spell on the sidelines along with many of his fellow defenders, it appears Liverꦏpool’s decision to loan out Nathaniel Clyne was short-sighted.

In addition to Alexander-Arnold, ❀the Reds are also without Dejan Lo𒀰vren, Joe Gomez, and Georginio Wijnaldum.

The mini-injury crisis p🦋articularly leaves Jurgen Klop⛎p’s backline exposed, forcing James Milner to potentially slot in at right back against Crystal Palace.

Although Milner 🅷is a capable defender, it is far from his preferred position, and Klopp would ideally have liked there to be numerous defensive options to choose from♓ in the coming matches.

Yet the Reds sent the exp🥂erienced Cl🍌yne to Bournemouth earlier in the window and will surely be regretting the decision to offload a suitable back-up.

Clyne was starved of first team opportunities this season at Anfield🅠, but big teams can afford to keep quality playe🐻rs on the bench to add depth.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, the club was too eager to offload Nathaniel Clyne and sacrifice their strength in depth — a decision that appears misguided in the wake of Trent Alexander-Arno🐈ld’s injury layoff.
