Trent Alexander-Arnold says striker Liverpool released had a better left foot than Mo Salah

Liverpool have a remarkable list of incredible left-footed players to have come through Anfield in recent years.

Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Harvey Elliott are three players in the current squad who have a wand of a left foot, while Mohamed Salah has scored umpteen goals with his left peg too.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have been building their ultimate Liverpool player made up of a number of attributes, and when it came to who had the best left foot, the pair gave an interesting answer.

Robertson said that Xherdan Shaqiri has the best left foot of any player he’s seen at Liverpool, while Alexander-Arnold said that Daniel Sturridge would be his pick, with Shaqiri not too far behind.

The right-back named the Liverpool player he thinks had the best left peg.

Sturridge was released by Liverpool a few years ago, but Alexander-Arnold says that he had incredible technique on his left foot.

“I’d say Studge you know, but technically Shaq, yeah, his left foot was incredible,’ Alexander-Arnold said.

“Don’t get me wrong, we’re not playing down Mo, his left foot is unbelievable, but Shaq had the power, it was unique,” Robertson said.

Alexander-Arnold praised Sturridge’s ability, and it’s not hard to understand why.

Indeed, the striker was absolutely brilliant during his time at Liverpool.

Sturridge has plenty of regrets about his departure from Liverpool, and it was sad how things ended for the striker amid a string of injuries.

Despite his struggles, Sturridge still had an incredible run at Liverpool, putting up some brilliant stats.

Alexander-Arnold made some other interesting choices when building his perfect Liverpool player, and it’s fair to say that he’s played with some incredible footballers during his time at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold has played with some incredible players at Liverpool, but, sadly, that may soon come to an end.

Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked to Real Madrid recently, and a move next summer could be on the cards.

If this is to be Alexander-Arnold’s final season at Liverpool, he will be departing the club as a true modern legend.
