In January 2019, Allan signed a pre-contract agreement with Hibs and, at the end of the season, left Celtic on a free transfer to link up with the Edinburgh side.

Since leaving Parkhead, he has proven himself an excellent midfielder and has caught the eye with plenty of excellent displays, in particular his defence-splitting through-balls.

Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson has not only deemed Allan the best Hibs player this season but has also named him in his Scottish Premiership Team of the Season.

In terms of his overall Premiership XI, Wilson : “(He) has been outstanding in the No10 role this year with a number of key assists and outstanding performances. His eye for a pass is up there with best in Scotland.”

It simply wasn’t meant to be for Allan at Celtic, but credit to him, he is now shining at Easter Road.
