‘Tremendous’… James McFadden was absolutely delighted with 17-year-old Celtic youngster last night
Celtic’s win over Feyenoord in the Champions League not only allowed the fans to brush off their winless record, it also allowed them to cast their eye over young fullback, Mitchel Frame.
The 17-year-old was given his first team debut against the Dutch side and it is fair to say that he really impressed in his 23-minute cameo.
Frame’s endeavour forced the corner that led to Gustaf Lagerbielke’s 90th-minute winner and he left BBC pundit, James McFadden, blown away.
McFadden said [], “Mitchel Frame would have been buzzing just to be here.
“When you’re a young player, you’re hoping the manager shouts you. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d go on and be able to have an impact in the game.
“Tremendous night for him. He would have been in primary school the last time they won a home game in the Champions League.”
Young Frame showed everything the Celtic fans love about a young player emerging from the youth ranks.
Attitude, desire and being fearless. The 17-year-old had all that and more when he drove at the Feyenoord defence after replacing Luis Palma on the 68th minute.

What a moment for the left-sided player. After signing a new deal in the summer, making his debut for Celtic in the Champions League will be a lasting memory for Frame so early into his Hoops career.
Now for the youngster, it will be interesting to see how he kicks on. He’s under the spotlight now and if Brendan Rodgers can manage him properly (which I have no doubt he will), young Frame could become a really good player for Celtic in years to come.
For now, we allow the young man to bask in the glory of last night’s win because the hard work start again if he wants more first-team football in the future.
