Celtic are about to lose one of their most influential players in the dressing room next summer according to journalist, Roger Hannah.
Discussing Hart’s performance against St Johnstone and his contract status, Hannah claims that the 36-year-old treble-winner won’t be the Hoops keeper for the start of next season.
Hannah said [], “If Brendan Rodgers says, ‘Yes, I’m actively looking for a goalkeeper.’, then this show just goes into orbit.
“Look where we are. We’re in December, Celtic are eight points clear, we’re entering the last six months of Joe Hart’s contract.
“He is I think, well into his thirties. Joe Hart won’t be the goalkeeper for Celtic next season.
“I can see Joe Hart going to the MLS and extending his career for about three or four years over there.
“Celtic will be looking for players at every position on the field. Goalkeeper being one of them. They’ll have a different goalie next season. Joe Hart will be the goalie until the end of this season.”
What Joe Hart has said about his Celtic future
The former England international is adored by the Celtic fans but recent mistakes that have cost in the league have tested the Hoops support patience.
Hart was quizzed earlier in the season about Celtic rumoured to be looking for his replacement. And whilst Hart was fairly philosophical about it, he understands why the rumours persist.
Hart said, “It’s probably down to my age – or something else on any given day. I know from my past as a goalkeeper that I’m by no means perfect. If people want to angle in on something specific, they can.

“But I’ve been around a long time and if you want to make an argument about why I should be in goal there’s plenty of those too.
“That’s why football has so many conversations. But it’s for everyone else to talk about. In my position, I have to focus on the things I can control. Everyone else is free to say what they want.”
Whatever happens with Hart, his time at Celtic will always be remembered fondly by the Celtic fans. He brought stability to an area of the team when there was chaos and for that, they will always be grateful.
