Transfer expert says Newcastle have a huge contract offer ready to go

Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla has been quoted by that Newcastle United have an offer worth as much as £10.7million a year ready to be offered to Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Cavani, 33, is out of contract this summer and it is becoming more and more likely that he will leave the French champions when his current deal expires on June 30. A number of clubs have been linked.

Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and a number of South American sides are said to be interested in the 116-time Uruguay international. This season, he has dropped out of the reckoning at PSG, mainly due to the presence of Mauro Icardi.

Pedulla, who is renowned for having his own website that provides reliable transfer news, has claimed that Newcastle have prepared a mammoth offer for Cavani – worth between £190,000 and £205,000 a week.

“Cavani? Newcastle, should the change of ownership take place, has a €11-12 million proposal ready. We will see if he wants to go to a club that doesn’t play the Champions League,”

TBR’s view – Cavani would still be the ideal Newcastle signing

Ask the majority of Newcastle fans and they will tell you that the position that needs the most strengthening in Steve Bruce’s squad is up front. Club-record signing Joelinton has flopped, netting only one league goal all season.

Andy Carroll’s return failed to yield any goals and he is out of contract this summer. Meanwhile, Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto are expected to leave – even if it is on loan. A striker is needed, and Cavani is perfect.
