Tottenham are considering a move for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, but the Bundesliga giants could ask for more than for the Croatian, which would be a club-record signing for Spurs.

The 20-year-old left footer, who could form part of Tottenham’s potential 2022/23 starting XI, has only been at the Red Bull Arena for one season following his arrival from Dinamo Zagreb, but he’s already established himself as one of the most sought after centre-backs across Europe.

Signing both Gvardiol and Bastoni would bolster Conte’s backline and while it would use up a large chunk of the £150m transfer kitty, there are likely to be several outgoings this summer which would help bring funds in.

Conte and his compatriot won the Scudetto together last season and while there are reports of Bastoni being reluctant to leave the Serie A giants, the Nerazzurri are close to agreeing a deal for Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

Bremer’s arrival could see Bastoni being offloaded due to Inter needing to balance the books. The Torino defender’s signing could see the £50m-valued 23-year-old reconsider a reported to Spurs.
