Tottenham’s links with Joachim Andersen could hint at Toby Alderweireld exit
Tottenham Hotspur have held meetings with Sampdoria over the possible signing of centre-back Joachim Andersen, according to reports in the Italian media.
that Tottenham held discussions with Sampdoria and tried to agree a fee in principle for the defender.
Andersen is rated as one of the best young defenders across Europe and he has impressed in Serie A this season.
The 22-year-old has played 27 times in the Italian top flight this season, helping Sampdoria to ninth place as they compete for a European spot.
The Danish defender has also earned his first international call-up recently as he looks to step up from under-21 to senior football for his country.

But the arrival of Andersen in North London could mean that Toby Alderweireld is on his way out.
Alderweireld has been a strong part of Tottenham’s defence for a few seasons now but is strongly linked with a £26m switch to Manchester United ().
The Belgium international is reportedly unhappy with the terms of his contract and the Red Devils can offer him higher wages.
Spurs could be preparing for Alderweireld’s departure by bringing in Andersen, who would compete with Jan Vertonghen, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez at centre-half.
