Tottenham’s interest in signing £25m striker has been confirmed

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a number of strikers heading into this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a lot of players from Alexander Isak to Santiago Gimenez.

Jonathan David is another player who has been linked to Tottenham, but with so many rumours doing the rounds, it’s hard to decipher what news is genuine and what is just noise.

Speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, Ben Jacobs has shared an update on David and Tottenham’s interest in the Canadian.

Jacobs stated that Newcastle are now in the race for the striker, but he noted that Tottenham’s interest in the player is absolutely genuine.

Tottenham are genuinely interested in Jonathan David

Jacobs shared what he knows about the £25m attacker.

“Jonathan David is the other one to keep an eye on. Newcastle are the newest suitors there. West Ham could turn their attention to David and I think there’s very much substance to the Spurs links as well,” Jacobs said.

David could be bargain of the summer

David is valued at just £25m these days, and that could be an absolute bargain.

The striker’s goalscoring record over in France is incredible, and at the age of just 24, he has room to grow and improve and potentially be resold for a huge profit.

David’s style suits Ange Postecoglou’s system to a tee. The Canadian is an energetic forward with bags of pace and a lethal finishing ability, he would be the perfect spearhead for this Spurs attack.

Of course, whether or not Tottenham can actually get this deal done remains to be seen, but, by the sounds of it, Spurs are very much in the mix here.

Tottenham do need a striker, and while he’s a very different player, David could be the man who ultimately acts as Tottenham’s Harry Kane replacement.
