Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski now issues positive update on his injury which will please Thomas Frank

Dejan Kulusevski has been speaking about the latest update on his knee injury which saw him miss the Europa League final in May.

Kulusevski will have a new manager when he returns from his injury, as Thomas Frank is set to be appointed as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Frank and Tottenham have agreed terms ahead of the Danish manager being the man to take over the reins from Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked.

The 51-year-old will be pretty pleased to hear what Kulusevski has just said about his return from injury, with the Swede likely to be an important player for him next season.

Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski issues positive injury update

Dejan Kulusevski has revealed that his recovery from injury is going well and he is ‘already ahead of schedule’ as he looks to make his return.

Back in May, Tottenham announced that the winger had undergone surgery after suffering an injury to his right knee against Crystal Palace.

The Swede will most likely miss the start of the season, however, he has not ruled out returning to action in September.

It now seems more than likely that the 25-year-old will be unavailable for the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain in August, which is a blow for Spurs. Frank’s team are due to take on the French and European champions on August 13.

Asked about his injury, Kulusevski told : “It’s good. I’m already ahead of schedule, I can start walking now, so that’s nice.”

Asked whether he will be back for World Cup qualifiers in September, he added: “It’s been a few months since I’ve been watching and being on the sidelines. It’s early, but we’ll see.”

Throughout those ten matches, the North London club lost five, won three and drew twice as his importance to the team was highlighted.

Postecoglou’s team didn’t need him for the Europa League final though as Brennan Johnson’s only goal of the game was enough to see them beat Man United 1-0.
