Tottenham’s transfer deadline day shortlist includes Carrasco, James and Traore – journalist

Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have three names on their transfer deadline day shortlist – Adama Traore, Yannick Carrasco and Dan James.

Spurs have had a fantastic transfer window so far. Antonio Conte has signed seven new players already, but it looks like he wants to bring in one more before the 11:00 pm deadline tonight.

Tottenham brought in Ivan Perisic this summer, and although he isn’t their biggest signing, he definitely could prove to be their best one.

Perisic’s quality as a wing-back on the left flank is phenomenal. He fits Conte’s system perfectly, and the Italian is now looking for a player just like the new Spurs number 14 on the opposite wing.

Spurs have brought in Djed Spence, while they already have the likes of Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Lucas Moura. However, Conte wants one more player, and Paratici has three names on his transfer shortlist for that position.

Jones told : “Spurs are looking for a right-sided version of Perisic.

“Carrasco and James have both been viewed for that role. Adama (Traore) has been too.”

Tottenham are unbeaten in the league so far having won three and drawn two of their first five games. That’s an excellent start to the season, but they could easily have lost the games against Chelsea and West Ham.

That explains why Conte is still keen to strengthen his squad despite the fact that he has signed seven new players this summer. It looks like a new right-wing-back is his priority.

Both Carrasco and James are excellent options for that role. The former arguably provides a similar balance to what Perisic does on the opposite flank, which makes him a very smart option.

However, if we had to choose, we’d go with Traore, who has been .
