Tottenham’s Archie Gray shares what he really thought about playing centre-back vs Hearts
Tottenham Hotspur defeated Hearts 5-1 in their first pre-season friendly of the summer and Archie Gray has shared what he really thought about playing at centre-back.
Tottenham🌳 have intensified their preparations for the fast-approaching Premier League season as they travelled up to Tynecastle Park to face Hearts.
Fans got a first glimpse of new additions Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, who both impressed on their debuts.
🌟It was especially surprising to see Gray played in an unfamiliar position at centre-back but he looked really comfortable and has now shared what he really thought about playing in that role.
Archie Gray just wants to play
ಞWhen asked by about his thought playing at centre-back, Gray said: “Yeah definitely it was just to get another good feel of playing the football and ultimately getting the minutes in the legs.
🦩“There a good team and it’s also good to come here, we came here last year and it’s a really good stadium and an enjoyable game but mostly really important to get the minutes in the legs.
🦩“Obviously I wasn’t expecting to play centre-back but honestly I’m really grateful for the opportunity to play and learn different positions.
🔴“I said this last year in an interview but I don’t really care where I play, do you know what I mean, I’m 18-years-old and I need to learn the game.
꧂“Honestly, anywhere he puts me I’m just happy to learn the game and have great teammates around me to teach me about the game but yeah really good.”
Archie Gray has the right attitude
🐼Just listening to Gray being interviewed, it’s evident that he has an elite mentality and one that’s geared towards helping the team.
💖The former Leeds man wasn’t phased about playing at centre-back at all and in fact, he completely embraced it.
🌼The teenager clearly has a really bright future ahead of him and his versatility will play a big role in achieving that notion.
