Tottenham’s Alderweireld admits being with Belgium is ‘a nice change of scenery’
Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has summed up the mood behind the scenes at the club by admitting being with Belgium is ‘a nice change of scenery’.
Spurs are going through a testing period at the moment having lost four of their last five games.
The north Londoners have lost four of their last five games in all competitions, including an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United and a Champions League flattening at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Their performance against Brighton last weekend was awful and suggested that something could be wrong within the dressing room.
Defender Alderweireld, who is one of many struggling for form at the moment, appears to have confirmed something is badly wrong with his admission that he is happy to be away.
He told reporters (): “All we need to do is win a few games to get back on track, but I’m not hiding that being with the national team is a nice change of scenery.”
TBR’s view
The 30-year-old’s comments are unlikely to go down well with Spurs fans.

Given the player is out of contract next summer, his words are only going to annoy supporters.
He could quite easily just have kept it short rather than hint that there are issues behind the scenes.
Spurs fans will certainly expect some big performances from one of the squad’s most senior players once club football resumes.
