Tottenham will try to sign Everton’s Anthony Gordon in 2023 – journalist
Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will make a move to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton next year.
The young Englishman was heavily linked with a move to Spurs and Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Frank Lampard managed to keep hold of his star youngster then, but things could be very different in 2023.

Gordon made his Premier League debut back in January 2020, but he only really burst onto the scene last year. He played 40 games in all competitions for the Toffees and caught many people’s eyes.
In the last week of the summer transfer window, journalist Paul Brown claimed that Tottenham are ‘very interested’ in Gordon. He revealed that Spurs ‘came in’ for him earlier in the window and even suggested that a late move could be on the cards.
No move materialised in the summer, but Jones believes a bid is expected from Daniel Levy’s side in 2023.
When asked if Tottenham are preparing to test Everton’s resolve, the journalist told : “I think it will happen next summer.
“Obviously, Everton want to tie him down to another contract and get him secured. But, for the player, he has to map out his own future. If he’s going to stay at Everton, they’ve got to show real ambition between now and May.”

TBR View:
Gordon’s situation will be really interesting to watch over the next few months.
The youngster’s talent is evident for everyone to see, but as an attacker who has played on both flanks and in a number 10 position since the start of last season, his goal return is really, really poor.
Gordon scored four goals and provided three assists in 40 appearances last season. He has just three goals to his name this campaign, which isn’t really great for a player who’s wanted by some of the biggest clubs in the country.
However, the Everton star is still only 21. Branded as an ‘explosive’ player, he still has a lot of time to improve and get better in front of goal, and that’s probably why Tottenham are so keen to sign him.
