Tottenham to bid for Baris Yilmaz this week

Turkey and Galatasaray winger Baris Yilmaz has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks including Liverpool and Brighton.

Though, it’s Tottenham and Manchester United who are now expected to formalise their interest with a bid this week, according to Ali Naci Kucuk, via .

“Manchester United and Tottenham will make official offers for Barış Alper Yılmaz in the coming days,” Kucuk said.

The journalist made no indication of how much Spurs are prepared to offer but Galatasaray will only sanction his sale if a £25m bid arrives.

Baris Yilmaz statistics

Yilmaz really impressed at the European Championships in Germany, helping Turkey to reach the last eight.

The versatile attacker, who can operate off either flank and as a striker, netted seven times whilst laying on 12 assists last term.

Virgil van Dijk even struggled to play against Yilmaz, admitting: “Baris Alper Yilmaz was running constantly. He was running elusive. It was difficult for every defender.

“He made it very hard for us. He couldn’t score a goal though. If we were to describe him in any way, he is a really important player.”

If Spurs do land his signature, it’d be a really smart addition.
