Tottenham will look at signing ‘incredible’ £42.5m playmaker ahead of deadline day – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur “will look at” Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo in the coming weeks, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.

Spurs are reportedly looking to snap up a playmaker ahead of the summer transfer window’s closure.

Speculation linking Tottenham with James Maddison has resurfaced in recent weeks.

Likewise, Spurs are now being heavily linked with Zaniolo, one of the key players at Jose Mourinho’s disposal.

Reports have suggested that he is Antonio Conte’s dream signing.

Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs recently claimed that fresh talks could take place in the coming days.

He added that Zaniolo wants to play in the Premier League and Champions League.

For the time being, Tottenham seem to be focusing on moving players on.

But Taylor, writing on , says Spurs will turn their attention to Zaniolo at some point this month.

The Daily Express journalist also felt that “there’s nothing at the moment” to suggest a bid could materialise.

“Nicolo Zaniolo is another one that they will look at,” Taylor wrote on GiveMeSport.

“As far as a bid for Maddison’s concerned, it could happen.

“But there’s nothing at the moment to suggest that it’s going to materialise.”

Tottenham have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, bringing in six new players.

There seems to be a good chance Spurs could finish their summer business on a high note.

Zaniolo, who is , is an “” player.

He’d be a cheaper option than Maddison, who apparently has a price tag.

And by no means is he a lower-quality one.

If Tottenham manage to move surplus players on, then we could well see some developments on the playmaker front.
