Tottenham were trying to sign £34m Man City player but he’s now rejected them
A Manchester City player has just turned down a move to Tottenham Hotspur in favour of a club on the continent.
Tottenham Hotspur have been pretty active in the summer transfer window and they aren’t expected to rest on their laurels.
Ange Postecoglou is still keen to add at least three more players to his ranks, though, it has just emerged that one of his rumoured targets has turned down a move to North London.

Tottenham were trying to sign Yan Couto
According to German outlet , Tottenham Hotspur were trying to sign Manchester City full-back Yan Couto this summer.
The £34m-rated Spaniard was evidently viewed as a replacement for Emerson Royal, who is set to join AC Milan.
But, Couto has now decided to reject a move to North London in favour of Borussia Dortmund as he feels it’d be better for his development.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a sensational season on loan at Girona last term but City don’t have him in their plans and a sale appears to be imminent.
Tottenham need an attacker
After missing out on Couto, Tottenham should focus their full attention on signing an attacker.
Juventus wide player Federico Chiesa has been heavily linked and his agent is believed to be in talks with the club.
The Serie A giants want around £25m for his signature which is certainly well below his market value.
Chiesa has one year remaining on his deal so Juve are keen to move him on to avoid losing him on a free transfer in a year’s time.
Pedro Neto is also thought to be an option, though, he will cost considerably more, perhaps north of £60m.
