Tottenham want to sign Riccardo Calafiori

Tottenham have had a lot of success recruiting from the Serie A, haven’t they?

Seven current Spurs players have been signed from Italian sides in recent years – Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and most recently, Radu Dragusin.

Fabio Paratici has played a big part in helping Tottenham identify and seal deals for players in the Serie A, and it looks like Spurs will continue to capitalise on the Italian market whenever an opportunity arises.

and claim today that Ange Postecoglou’s side are interested in signing Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori.

The 21-year-old Italian is naturally a centre-back, but he is capable of playing at left-back and left-wing too. He has been viewed as a huge talent for a few years now, and he could get himself a big move next.

The reports claim that Juventus, Napoli, the two Milan clubs and Tottenham are all interested in Calafiori, but any move is expected to happen in the summer.

Another defender will help Tottenham

Radu Dragusin’s arrival is a huge boost for Tottenham.

The Romanian will provide some much-needed cover for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, but Spurs have been in a position this season where they’ve been without both their first-choice centre-halves.

Ben Davies is currently the other option to fill in when required, but the Welshman is currently injured and has also surprisingly been linked with a move to Leeds United.

A move for someone like Calafiori, who is impressing in the Serie A, would not be a bad idea at all.

The youngster, according to , possesses “impressive technical ability – good dribbling, accurate crossing and a powerful shot.”

The outlet adds: “Off the ball, he has the power, stamina and intelligence required in defence, while he has shown great personality and character in his recovery process, as well as on the pitch.”
