Tottenham want to sign £40m Premier League player as soon as the transfer window opens

We’re heading towards the end of the season, and that means that the transfer window is getting closer and closer.

Indeed, it’s almost transfer season, and Tottenham are one team that has plenty of work to do.

Spurs still haven’t properly replaced Harry Kane, while there’s also a bit of a gap to plug in the midfield – especially as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg looks likely to leave the club this summer.

Luckily, it sounds as though Tottenham do have a midfield signing in mind, and they want to get this one wrapped up quickly.

Tottenham want £40m player signed up as soon as possible

According to , Tottenham are back in for Conor Gallagher.

Spurs bid for Gallagher last summer on deadline day, while there was also a strong interest in January.

Spurs are set to go back in for the Chelsea midfielder, for a fee said to be around £40m.

According to this report, Tottenham want Gallagher through the door as soon as possible – hopefully before pre-season even starts.

Conor Gallagher would be perfect for Ange Postecoglou

This is a transfer that every Spurs fan should find it easy to get behind.

Gallagher would be absolutely perfect for Ange Postecoglou – he’s technically sound and full of energy.

The Australian is said to be a massive fan of Gallagher. In fact, according to Fabrizio Romano, Postecoglou is in love with the idea of signing Gallagher.

“Do Tottenham like and appreciate Conor Gallagher? For sure, Tottenham tried to bring in Conor Gallagher in the summer? Why did Tottenham want Gallagher? Because Ange Postecoglou, from what I’m hearing, is in love with the player,” Romano said in January.

He believes he’s a top player, Tottenham really appreciate Gallagher for sure, but are Tottenham and Chelsea in talks with Gallagher? Right now, at the beginning of January? No.”

If Spurs are to kick on next season they have to back their manager and give him what he wants, and signing Gallagher is a surefire sign of faith in Postecoglou and his project.
