Tottenham want to sign £24m defender who’s almost as fast as Micky van de Ven

Tottenham Hotspur look set for a busy summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou continues to build a side in his image.

As first seasons go, Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed an encouraging debut campaign at Tottenham following his switch from Celtic.

The Aussie boss has Spurs sitting fourth with seven games remaining and should they qualify for the Champions League,🌳 it would be some achievement following an eight-placed finish last time out.

Postecoglou has that Spurs will be aiming to compete for the Premier League title nextꦫ season and he will be fully aware there is plenty of work to be done.

With the summer 🎀transfer window just around the corner, it would seem that Tottenham are keen to bolster their options at centre-back again.

Tottenham want defender who’s almost as fast as Van de Ven

According ಌto , Spurs remain interested in Bournemouth defender Illya Zabarnඣyi.

Tottenham were previously interested in the Ukrainian before he was snapped up by the Cherries for bac💙k in January last year.

It’s noted that Zabarnyi has clocked the third-fastest speed of🥀 any centre-back in the Premier 𓃲League this season.

Indeed, the 21ಌ-year-old clocked a top speed of 36.6k𒉰m/h while Van de Ven leads the way with 37.38 km/h.

Zabarnyi hailed as ‘one of the best’ in Europe

The Cherries defender has enjoyed a promising campaign on the south coast and it’ဣs no wonder Tottenham remain keen.

Shortly after he joined Bournemouth last year, Zabarnyi was hailed as one of t𓂃he best defenders in Europe.

While the centre-back is yet to prove he’s on🐓 that level, Spurs may be regretting passing up on the opportunity to sign him.

Of course, Van de Ven has struck up an excellent partnership with Cristian Romero and the club also moved to bring in Radu Dragusin in January. B🐬ut in the event that Van de Ven is injured, Spurs do lack pace at centre-bac🧔k.

Bringing in a player like Zabarnyi would make plenty of sense for Postecoglou as it would provide him with ꩵanother🍷 quick defender who boasts the technical ability to play in his system.
