Tottenham want 44-year-old who found Enzo Fernandez to be their new sporting director

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Benfica sporting director Rui Pedro Braz, who signed Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez just last year.

Spurs will be lining up Fabio Paratici’s replacement after he resigned from his role as managing director of football last month.

The Italian was hit with a worldwide ban from FIFA after his former club Juventus were found guilty of false accounting.

Tottenham had already moved to bring in Scott Munn as the club’s chief football officer, but they are widely expected to hire someone to work beneath him.

And reports that Rui Pedro Braz is one of the names in the frame to replace Paratici.

Tottenham want Benifca’s Rui Pedro Braz

The outlet claims that Tottenham are now stepping up their attempts to bring in a replacement for Paratici.

Pedro Braz is among the names on Spurs’ list after an impressive spell at Benfica.

The 44-year-old has helped the Portuguese outfit to bring in several unknown talents before selling them for sizeable fees.

One player that Pedro Braz was responsible for bringing to Benfica was Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine star was brought in last year from River Plate for a fee worth around .

A few months later, Fernandez moved to Chelsea in the January window for a British record fee worth .

Of course, Tottenham will be keen to press ahead with their search for a new sporting director, especially as their top managerial target, Julian Nagelsmann, seeks assurances over this exact thing.

Pedro Braz seems like a good fit for Tottenham on paper as a sporting director who clearly has an eye for talent.

But it’s unclear whether or not he would be willing to leave his role at Benfica after he only joined the club in 2021.
