Tottenham want £20m if they are to sell 28-year-old player who Ange Postecoglou really likes
It’s certainly no secret that Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur will be very busy continuing their squad rebuild next summer.
Despite the progress made towards the end of August, and the permanent January deals for Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall, there’s still much work to be done.

Postecoglou has the makings of a squad in his image, but in truth he’ll probably still want to move on several players.
At a mere glance of Tottenham’s squad list, fans may imagine that Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso and so on won’t be at the club next season.
Not because they are poor players, rather the ambition that Spurs now have.
That being said, Tottenham will have to be careful if they lose the likes of Skipp, considering their home-grown quota.
But that certainly won’t stop the side selling Hojbjerg, who also retains a fair bit of sell-on value.
And when speaking on ‘’, Alasdair Gold shared Tottenham’s plan when it comes to Hojbjerg next summer, and why he didn’t leave in January.
Tottenham willing to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for profit next summer
Gold explained that Postecoglou is still a big fan of the Danish international, even if he may no longer be intrinsic to plans.
And given Spurs signed Hojbjerg for back in 2020, Tottenham’s asking price next summer would demand a small amount of profit.

Sharing his perspective, Gold said: “I mean I think Ange likes him, I don’t think he’s got any kind of issues about him at all being in and around his squad.
“He’s a professional, he’s not the kind of guy that’s going to kick up a stink if he’s not playing or anything like that, he’s a good guy in that respect.
“I think Spurs, they’re looking for around £20m for him, and I think the clubs that were interested in him were not probably going to make that kind of statement on him, especially as a lot of clubs across the world are having issues balancing their books right now.
“There was never really a sense from pretty much as soon as the window opened, that he was definitely going to head out the door.”
As stated, there will be a lot for Tottenham to sort next summer, and Hojbjerg should make an attractive profile for another club.
That being said, one former Spurs player has now admitted that joining the club was the biggest mistake of his career.
